Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Grip Ski and Snowboard Carrier and seeing how it fits on top of our 2015 Toyota Tacoma with the factory roof rack. Now if you've got an aftermarket roof rack that's totally fine. If anything, it'll probably be more accommodating to a wider variety of skis and snowboards just because the crossbar spread's gonna be a little bit closer together and you won't be as limited with the length just because having the two carriers closer together means that shorter gear is gonna be okay. So if you've got kiddos coming with you then their stuff's gonna be able to fit. more

Now, if you're looking to carry skis and snowboards, maybe some fishing rods in the summer, this is a great way to do it and one of my personal favorites. Of course, you have a truck with a truck bed, so there's a lot of space there, but there's nothing to really secure this stuff down and keep it from moving around. So having a roof mounted carrier is going to keep it well gripped so it's not sliding around freely. more

This is the four ski, two board version, but there's also a six ski, four board version available as well and it doubles as a fishing rod holder in the warmer weather months. So if you're looking to get longer pairs of skis or snowboards where you can need them to go you don't want to keep the wet skis and snowboards in the car or you just don't have room for them, a ski and snowboard carrier like this one from Yakima might be a good option for you. It's just gonna hold your boards or skis in place with these rubberized moldings through these jaws of the actual carrier. On the front here you can see there are very large buttons that you can push, even if you have larger gloves or mittens on in the winter, then you can still get it open again. more

Hey, this is Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima Fresh Track Ski and Snowboard Carrier and how it fits on our 2017 Toyota Rav4. This carrier is capable of holding up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards. So, it's just gonna be a good way to get some of these bigger ski and snowboards that you might not be able to fit, or not want to keep in your car, 'cause they get icy and snowy, up on top of your roof and keep them stable and secure while you're driving. Taking a closer look at the carrier, you can see that there are some pretty large buttons on the outside, so if you do have big gloves on, or mittens when you're actually out in the snow you're gonna be able to get those up with no problem. Additionally, you can see that the molding on the inside is rubberized, so it's soft and it won't damage your actual gear while you're driving. more

A nice feature that this carrier offers is the ability to push these buttons. Now, this style of carrier is gonna hold it between these two arms on the roof. Now, to open these, we've got these nice large buttons, easy to hit with the palm of my hand, so if I've got gloves, mittens on, it's gonna be easy to open. And our gear is going to be held in between these two arms like we said, in with these very large rubber pads. These are gonna keep things tightly gripped down, nice and secure, but also protect them. It's gonna be a really good amount of push in there, so none of our equipment's gonna get damaged. more

Now, this style of carrier is going to hold it on your roof and in between these two arms with these very thick rubber pads. Those rubber pads are going to keep things nice and well gripped as well as cushioned and protected, so all of our gear's gonna be nice and safe up there, it's gonna hold it really well going down the road, and overall, be a great way of carrying that kind of long gear that might otherwise be hard to put in the car. Now, one thing I really like about this Yakima one is the very large buttons. This makes it really easy to open up, especially if you've got something like mittens on, you just hit it with the palm of your hand, and it goes up like that. They're spring loaded, so they stay open, and I can just grab my gear, take it off the rack, and set it aside. more

Now this style of ski and snowboard carrier is going to hold it up here on the roof, out in the open in these clamps. These are gonna be rubber padded so it's going to give the gear some good grip and it's going to be a large amount of cushioning, keeping everything up here nice and safe, nice and tight. Now with this, it is a little bit difficult to reach up in there with the style of this factory roof rack. We have to set the gear in a little bit so you probably will need to open your door, step up in there with your boots to actually access everything. more

Inno Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2014 Toyota Prius v INA952- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we're gonna be taking a look at our Inno Gravity Ski and Snowboard Carrier, right here on our 2014 Toyota Prius V. So this is going to be a very small and compact snowboard carrier. One of the smallest in fact that I've seen here at etrailer, so if you're only planning on carrying your own skis or your own snowboards along with a friend, this'll be perfectly fine, but let's take a look at some measurements just to see if you're gonna have the right fit. The first thing I wanna take a look at is how much space does it take up on our crossbar system, So measuring from the end of one clamp, to the end of the other, it sits at about 15 and a half inches. Notice how I have this clamped around our overhang, that's to bring the carrier out further towards the end of our Prius V, making it easier to take off our seasoned still boards and this frees up so much more room towards the side for our other gear. Now lets talk about security, so we have two lock cores right here, and you get two keys as well, either key access, accesses, these skis and the snowboards, and then you are not unable to loosen these clamps, unless this is unlocked and open. more

Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline at etrailer.com, and today we are looking at the Yakima HitchSki and Snowboard Bike Rack Carrier Adapter for Hitch Mounted Bike Racks here on our 2020 Toyota RAV4.This is a great option if you already have a bike rack, or if you do not have or want a roof rack system, but you still want to carry around your skis and snowboards. We have here one snowboard and one pair of skis, but this can actually fit up to six pairs of skis or four snowboards. Personally, though, I have found that this works best with up to four pairs of skis, but it really depends on the shape and size of your skis.As for dimensions, the fit on your RAV4 depends on what bike rack you are using. We are currently using the etrailer four bike hanging style rack here on our RAV4. But if you have farther or closer bike racks, it depends on where the first and the fourth cradles sit.Ideally, if it fits your bike rack, your bike rack would have the first and the fourth cradle, 17 inches and three fourths inches apart, but you can give or take half an inch. For dimensions and how much you can fit on here, from the top of the top arm to the bottom of the bottom arm, it is about 18 inches long. more

Thule Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Highlander- Video
AJ: What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out the Thule Snow Sport, Snowboard, and Ski Carrier on our 2016, Toyota Highlander. I'm going to hop up there and get right to it. It's going to be a great way to carry your snowboards and your skis, obviously, on the roof of your vehicle, that way you're not putting them in the vehicle. They're not taking up space, it gives more room for your passengers on the inside, on your way to the slopes or back. It's going to hold them nice with this rubber insert here, so it's not going to damage the skis or snowboards at all. more

Rhino Rack Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2015 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number RR573. Now this can carry up to three skis or two snowboards. We already have the front one installed, and how these install, is they just wrap around your crossbars like so and they clamp in place with these two screws. I'll go ahead and show you how the rear one goes on. We already have it partially assembled here. We'll set it on our roof rack, like so, and then I'll get the two additional screws, and then we'll wrap it around, insert the two screws up at the top here, and start to tighten it down. Just loosely until it gets into the bracket. more

We're going to show you how to install the second half. It fits pretty much all your crossbars. I'm going to get up here and get it even with the first one. RockyMounts Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2010 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today on our 2010 Toyota Highlander we're doing a test-fit of the RockyMounts LiftOp Biggie Ski and Snowboard Carrier. That part number is RKY1482. Now we already have the front half of our carrier in place and secure so we're just going to show you the back half. First thing we're going to do is just place it onto our crossbars and slide those along. We want our front and back to line up and then we'll open up the carrier, take the little strap, and set it in place around the back in the slot there. With that in place we can kind of even out the carrier and make sure that stays in place. Now we've got a spot here for the bolt and we'll just use the included tool and tighten that down. more

Pretty much easy to install, just rests on any of your crossbars. We're going to go ahead and do the second one now. Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota Rav 4, we have our Yakima FatCat 6 Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number Y03088. We have our front one installed already and I'll show you how the back one installs. They both install the same way, so you just do the same thing on the front. I'll just hook that on there, and step up into my car. Have that open. On this particular roof rack, I did have to extend the strap out, I used this red knob, just turn it back and forth to loosen and tighten it, depending on which rack you have. I'll hook this up in the slot and then I'll flip it backwards. That tightens the strap around the rack, and then I'll go up here on top, got this little tab here, we'll tighten it down, and lock it in place. more

Whispbar Roof Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2013 Toyota Tacoma- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Tacoma we're going to be test fitting the Whispbar Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier, with a six ski or four board capacity, in silver. Its part number is WB-300. With our Yakima Q-Towers Roof Rack System already installed on the Tacoma, we're going to begin our test fit by placing the front half of our carrier onto the front load bar. We'll bring the black rubber coated straps around the underside of our load bar and fit the black buckle into the appropriate slot on the foot of the carrier. Then open the top jaw of the carrier, lift up on the black lever, this will release the small gray catch that'll hold the buckle down, tighten up lever, and push it down. We'll now repeat that same tightening process for the other side of the front of our carrier. With the front half of our carrier secure, we'll close the top jaw, grab the rear half, place it onto our rear load bar. more
